BLACKOUT for BedFringe:

a post-electric day

Email to apply.

Performance day: Saturday 27th July, The Place Theatre, Bedford

Have you wondered what your play would be like if the lights went out?

Find out by applying to BLACKOUT for BedFringe: a post electric day. This July, as part of BedFringe, The Place Bedford, in collaboration with Staging Change, will present a series of theatre works by emerging and established theatre makers all responding to a cultural and ecological challenge.

For one whole day, The Place will be turning the mains power off across the building, and challenging artists to come up with exciting, provocative entertainment through alternative means of lighting, sound and tech.

Will it be business as usual? Will it be a blueprint for a new way of working? Can we run a box office from solar power and batteries? Can we keep our venue cool and our drink colder?

Who knows? Not us, yet! Will it be fun? Absolutely!

Think you've got what it takes to find an alternative form of lighting your stage? Apply now and receive a 75% box office split (travel and accommodation not included - tbc).

It doesn't matter if your play has an environmental message or not, apply by the 20th May 2019 for a chance to perform at BedFringe! Contact to apply or ask any questions.

About your show (approx 200 words)
